Pretentious celebrities pontificate eloquently on politics and the media in Newsweek’s The Cut series, writer Zadie Smith explored sisterhood in fiction and Condé Nast Traveler launched its first-ever magazine online.

CNN Style takes a look at New York’s new communications hub.

According to Newsweek, this issue, published on August 25 and updated in September, offers a blend of glamorous interviews, photoshoots, features and photos and an easy way to explore old pieces from digital edition writer Olivia Goldhill. The magazine also features Patricia Arquette on her new film and Nina Garcia on the Condé Nast launch of W Magazine.

The Cut includes commentary from designers Carolina Herrera and Donatella Versace, musician Sam Smith, actors David Oyelowo and Shailene Woodley, comedian and actress Diane DiPiero, singer-songwriter U2, thespian and filmmaker John Leguizamo, and noted chef Giada De Laurentiis, as well as a new article by Redesign guru and Vanity Fair contributing editor Brian Moylan.

“It was a lot of fun and a lot of hard work,” Moylan said. “I never thought I’d speak another word in print, but it was actually a really fantastic time.”
